Each column represents a sequence variant relative to the laboratory strain S288c determined by dideoxy sequencing. The strains are as follows for Htg⁺: YJM789 (a), YJM326 (b), YJM320 (c), YJM280 (d), YJM421 (e), YJM339 (f); and Htg^-: YJM270 (g), YJM269 (h), YJM627 (i), YJM1129 (j), W303 (k), SK1 (l), S96 (m). All strains were phenotyped for Htg by the colony size assay and were defined as Htg^- if single colonies were absent after 48 hours at 41°C.
